| Steve Slaton regains starting job for Texans |
| Steve Slaton (RB) - Houston Texans |
(Sat, Nov 21 - 2:05pm ET)
|
Steve Slaton will start for the Texans against the Titans on Monday night. We thought that Slaton would have to prove he can hold on to the ball before getting his starting job back, but coach Gary Kubiak is apparently convinced. Slaton's role was due to grow anyway because he's clearly their best back, but this a great sign that he has his coach's confidence. Look for Slaton to still share carries with Chris Brown and Ryan Moats, but we like him as a solid flex play this week. Source: Nick Scurfield on Twitter

| Reggie Bush will not play against Tampa Bay |
| Reggie Bush (RB) - New Orleans Saints |
(Sat, Nov 21 - 11:38am ET)
|
Reggie Bush (knee) and Sedrick Ellis (MCL sprain) have been downgraded to "out" and will not travel with the team to Tampa. The Saints want to avoid a setback with Bush's oft-surgically repaired knee. Against the Bucs, Pierre Thomas will carry the bulk of the load with Mike Bell coming in as a change-of-pace back and perhaps end-game "closer." Look for more receptions from Thomas. Anthony Hargrove will continue to play starter's snaps in Ellis' absence. Source: Associated Press

| Giants lose MLB Antonio Pierce indefinitely |
| Antonio Pierce (LB) - New York Giants |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 8:48pm ET)
|
The Giants announced late Friday that MLB Antonio Pierce will be out indefinitely after a bulging disc was discovered in Pierce's neck. Pierce was "shocked" by the news. He practiced on Friday, but experienced discomfort afterwards and was hospitalized for tests. An MRI revealed the injury, which may threaten Pierce's season. His loss is a blow to a Giants run defense that has underachieved all year. Chase Blackburn will likely take over in the middle, with Michael Boley now healthy at weak-side linebacker. | Bush to remain Raiders' starter for Week 11 |
| Michael Bush (RB) - Oakland Raiders |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 6:21pm ET)
|
Coach Tom Cable revealed Friday that Michael Bush will be the Raiders' starting tailback in Week 11 against Cincinnati. Bush started Week 10 and had 119 yards on 14 carries against the Chiefs, but now faces the Bengals' No. 2 rush defense. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy leagues. Justin Fargas got the goal-line carries last Sunday and Darren McFadden's role figures to grow on a weekly basis as he continues to recover from in-season knee surgery. Bush is only a desperate flex play. Source: San Francisco Chronicle

| Buckhalter returns to full practice, probable |
| Correll Buckhalter (RB) - Denver Broncos |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 5:44pm ET)
|
Correll Buckhalter (probable, knee) returned to Broncos practice in full Friday. The probable tag means the Broncos consider Buckhalter "virtually certain" to be available for his normal role in the offense. However, he saw just two touches last week to Knowshon Moreno's 20 after a first-quarter fumble and may be being weeded out of the offense. Coach Josh McDaniels has shown signs all year that he wants Moreno to take over the featured back role.

| Reid: Westbrook out at least next three weeks |
| Brian Westbrook (RB) - Philadelphia Eagles |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 2:46pm ET)
|
Coach Andy Reid said Friday that Brian Westbrook (concussions) will miss at least the Eagles' next three games. And he's not even a safe bet to return after that. Three weeks is the timetable concussion specialists set for Westbrook's next checkup, which may or may not involve medical clearance. LeSean McCoy has better shot at starting for the rest of the season than Westbrook does of returning in Week 14. Source: Jeff McLane on Twitter

| Report: Haynesworth unlikely to face Cowboys |
| Albert Haynesworth (DL) - Washington Redskins |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 2:08pm ET)
|
ESPN reports that Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Cowboys. The loss takes a massive chunk out of Washington's already sagging run defense, which has fallen to 24th in the NFL. Haynesworth (6'6/350) will be replaced by Kedric Golston (6'4/300). Overlook Marion Barber's eight-touch Week 10 and use him against the Skins. Dallas' coaching staff has made it clear this week that they'll refocus on the ground game going forward.

| Report: Anthony Gonzalez may return Week 12 |
| Anthony Gonzalez (WR) - Indianapolis Colts |
(Fri, Nov 20 - 12:34pm ET)
|
NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports that Anthony Gonzalez has a "chance" to return in Week 12 against the Texans. La Canfora confirms the obvious -- that Gonzo won't play Sunday against the Ravens -- but says he is "expected" to resume practicing next week. Gonzalez would be just three weeks removed from knee surgery in Week 12, so the Colts definitely wouldn't immediately reinsert him into the starting lineup. We'd bet heavily against him helping anyone in the fantasy playoffs as well. Source: NFL.com

| Ronnie Brown to undergo Lisfranc surgery |
| Ronnie Brown (RB) - Miami Dolphins |
(Thu, Nov 19 - 10:20pm ET)
|
Ronnie Brown has decided to undergo surgery to repair the Lisfranc fracture in his right foot. Brown had already been leaning toward electing for the surgery, and his visit with foot specialist Dr. Bob Anderson confirmed that it was the right decision. Brown will undergo surgery Friday and will likely miss all of OTAs next season. He expects to be recovered "well before" the start of the 2010 season, but he's likely to be eased in during training camp. Source: Miami Herald

| Ricky runs Dolphins to victory behind 3 TDs |
| Ricky Williams (RB) - Miami Dolphins |
(Thu, Nov 19 - 11:37pm ET)
|
Ricky Williams rushed 22 times for 119 yards and two touchdowns and added two receptions for 19 yards and another touchdown to lead the Dolphins past the Panthers Thursday night, 24-17. Ricky showed nice hands and good balance on his first score, a 14-yard catch-and-run. Operating out of the Wildcat, Ricky added a diving 1-yard run, nailing the pylon for his second score of the second quarter. He sealed the game with a 46-yard tackle-shedding touchdown late in the fourth quarter after the Panthers had moved to within one score. The Dolphins' new workhorse, an ageless Ricky is a must-start RB1 against the Bills' league-worst run defense in Week 12.
