Joe Mauer | MIN
(June 19, 2013 12:41 AM EDT)
Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a home run in the Twins' 7-5 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Mauer hit a two-run homer in the first inning and later doubled off White Sox starter Dylan Axelrod, falling a triple short of the cycle. The two RBI gave him 23 on the season to go with a .327/.412/.492 line. And the homer was his seventh, giving him a fair chance to eclipse his total of 10 in 2012. If he finishes with his current slugging percentage it would actually be his third-highest all-time among full seasons.
Moss homers, scores twice as A's beat Rangers
Brandon Moss | OAK
(June 19, 2013 12:22 AM EDT)
Brandon Moss went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored as the A's beat the Rangers 6-2 on Tuesday.
Moss has homers in two of his last three games and 13 on the year. The first baseman also tripled in the game, his third already this season. Moss likely won't replicate the .291 batting average he finished with in 2012, but he is well on his way to another 20-homer season.

(June 18, 2013 11:54 PM EDT)
Brandon Crawford left Tuesday's game against the Padres with sprains of his index and middle fingers on his right hand.
Crawford suffered the ailment during a stolen base attempt in the second inning. It's not clear at this point how serious it is. The Giants should have an update on his status after the game.

Lee dominates Nationals in 4-2 Phillies win
Cliff Lee | PHI
(June 18, 2013 11:52 PM EDT)
Cliff Lee held the Nationals to two runs over eight innings in the Phillies' 4-2 win on Tuesday.
It was classic Lee, as he allowed two solo home runs but just five hits total on the evening. He also had nine strikeouts and no walks for the night, moving him to a 98:17 K:BB ratio on the year. The left-hander's name has been mentioned in trade rumors of late, but wherever he pitches he'll continue to be one of the best starters in the game. His next start will come Monday in San Diego.
Matt Dominguez belts grand slam Tuesday
Matt Dominguez | HOU
(June 18, 2013 11:49 PM EDT)
Matt Dominguez smacked a grand slam in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.
Dominguez lofted a Tom Gorzelanny pitch high into the air and ultimately into the Crawford Boxes in the seventh inning. He also added a single and a sacrifice fly. Dominguez is batting only .236 this season, but he now has 10 homers and 40 RBI, numbers much better than expected from the slick fielder.
Mets acquire Eric Young Jr. from Rockies
Eric Young Jr. | NYM
(June 18, 2013 11:30 PM EDT)
Mets acquired OF Eric Young Jr. from the Rockies in exchange for RHP Collin McHugh.
Young is batting just .242/.290/.352 this season, but he's a good fit for the outfielder-needy Mets. The speedster should receive a good amount of playing time in the outfield and makes for a nice cheap speed pick-up in deeper formats.
Marte sparks Pirates offense in win over Reds
Starling Marte | PIT
(June 18, 2013 11:25 PM EDT)
Starling Marte went 2-for-5 with a triple and a run scored as the Pirates beat the Reds 4-0 on Tuesday.
Marte was the catalyst of the Pirates offense on Tuesday. The triple led off the game and was the Pirates' only extra-base hit of the night. He later scored before singling in a run of his own in the seventh inning. Marte also stole a base in the game, his 21st of the season.

Felix Doubront | BOS
(June 18, 2013 10:56 PM EDT)
Felix Doubront fired eight scoreless innings, guiding the Red Sox to a 3-1 defeat of the Rays in the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox won the first game on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 5-1 and are now 2 1/2 games up in the American League East standings. Doubront was brilliant, needing only 93 pitches to work through his eight frames. He struck out six, issued no walks and gave up just three hits. The left-hander will take a 4.38 ERA into his next start in Detroit. We wouldn't expect a similar set of results there.
Hardy goes 3-for-4 in Orioles win over Tigers
J.J. Hardy | BAL
(June 18, 2013 10:50 PM EDT)
J.J. Hardy went 3-for-4 with a home run as the Orioles beat the Tigers 5-2 on Tuesday.
Hardy had two singles to go with the two-run homer, giving him 14 home runs and 42 RBI on the season. The Orioles lineup is not lacking in hitters having great years, and Hardy is no exception.
Wheeler sharp over six in major league debut
Zack Wheeler | NYM
(June 18, 2013 10:43 PM EDT)
Zack Wheeler tossed six scoreless innings Tuesday against the Braves to earn a win in his MLB debut.
Wheeler looked like he was battling some nerves early on and he got into some tight spots with his five total walks, but it was a special night overall for the 23-year-old right-hander. He struck out seven batters and yielded just four hits, and will try for a similar brand of dominance in his second major league start next Tuesday against the White Sox. Wheeler is a must-own in all standard fantasy leagues.
