Tortorella praises McDonagh's PP efforts
Ryan McDonagh | NYR
(May 24, 2013 2:13 PM EDT)
Rangers coach John Tortorella was very happy with Ryan McDonagh's performance with the man advantage on Thursday.
McDonagh has averaged just 0:42 minutes of power-play ice time in the postseason, but logged 3:32 minutes with the man advantage on Thursday. "I think he helped us on the power play," Tortorella said. "It's me, I screwed that up not using him early enough and I should have." Sounds like McDonagh will also get plenty of power-play ice time on Saturday.

Report: KHL team is pursuing Sergei Bobrovsky
Sergei Bobrovsky | CLM
(May 24, 2013 1:31 PM EDT)
SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League is reportedly willing to pay big money to sign Sergei Bobrovsky.
Bobrovsky is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this summer. Although it's unlikely that Saint Petersburg will succeed in its goal of inking Bobrovsky, this should give the goaltender more leverage when he's negotiating with the Columbus Blue Jackets. It's worth adding that Bobrovsky played for Saint Petersburg during the lockout and had a 1.94 GAA and .932 save percentage in 24 KHL games.

Brad Richards | NYR
(May 24, 2013 1:00 PM EDT)
Based on the New York Rangers' morning skate, it looks like Brad Richards will probably be a healthy scratch again on Saturday.
Richards skated with the scratches rather than participate in the Rangers' main practice. Something could still change, but it looks like the Rangers will go with the same lineup that won them Game 4.

Couture: Our 'power play was brutal'
Logan Couture | SJ
(May 24, 2013 11:11 AM EDT)
Logan Couture hated the way the Sharks played with the man advantage on Thursday.
"The power play was brutal," Couture said. "Passes weren't on, guys weren't shooting pucks, breakout was off, timing was off. There's 25 things that were wrong." The Sharks went 0-for-3 on the power play and suffered a 3-0 loss. They have to win Game 6 on Sunday to force a Game 7.
