As the first week of the NFL preseason is officially underway, the NFL replacement referees got their first shot to show that they could handle calling a professional football game.
One of the replacement refs by the name of Craig Ochoa (who already had called the Hall Of Fame Game) had an unfortunate misspeak during the Atlanta Falcons/Baltimore Ravens game that has since made the rounds on the Internet.
As Ochoa was announcing the results of an Atlanta challenge on an incomplete pass, he accidentally says that Arizona won’t be charged with a timeout and that allowed the Ravens television broadcasting team a chance to mock him for his error:
