Sweet Mama Jama.
The Comedy Central roast of Roseanne Barr was taped on Saturday, and you knew it was going to be a special evening when host Jane Lynch started things off with: “F*** Chick-fil-A.”
Most notable appearance had to be Jeffrey Ross, who showed up dressed as Joe Paterno, accompanied by two young men dressed only in football helmets and towels. Ross came armed with a ready-made response to those who thought the getup was in bad taste:
“If they’re offended by what they see, they can do what Joe Paterno did – look the other way.”
Hmm. I wonder how Taco Bell is taking this (see photo).
Ross, to Roseanne:
“Roseanne, I’ll always love you for saying whatever you want, for never holding back. And in these alarming times when comedians are second-guessing their imaginations and sometimes even apologizing for jokes, I consider you a hero and a martyr and a friend … Now I’m gonna take Seth Green and hit the showers!”
The Comedy Central roast airs on Aug. 12 at 10 p.m.
